Kam Leng Hotel is located at a quiet corner around Jalan Besar. The hotel has a very nostalgic look that reminds you of the 1960s, grandfather time. It was first established in 1972, but was re-renovated and re-opened in 2012.

#2 Venue Hotel – Modern Peranakan (SGD80-140)
Venue Hotel is located at Joo Chiat Road, within walking distance to Paya Lebar MRT. There were awarded the Asia Pacific Property Awards for Best Hotel Interior, Singapore 2014-2015.

#3 Hotel Clover The Arts – Artsy Fartsy (SGD130-180)
Hotel Clover The Arts is well located at Chinatown area, within walking distance to Clark Quay MRT. The artsy fartsy boutique hotel opened its doors in 2014. Every single room has a different theme that would blow your mind away without hurting your wallet.

Hotel Yan is located near Lavender street and Jalan Besar. This boutique hotel opened its door in 2015. It has 69 rustic industrial looking rooms.

#5 BIG Hotel – Chic and Cosy (SGD150-200)
Big Hotel is located near Middle road, within walking distance to Bugis MRT. It has a very modern, chic cosy feel when you step in. But the BIG isn’t really that BIG, the rooms are pretty small, but the location is very centralised.

Very nice and inviting! Although I have to say that Singapore, as a country is far from a budget destination. You have to pay a lot for that high standard of living.
When we were in Singapore, we found hotels were quite expensive. Great post. Hotel Clover The Arts – Artsy Fartsy looks beautiful. Will check next time when we are there.
